Po sition: Manager Process Engineering (Middleware) Location: Venda do Pinheiro, Lisbon, Portugal Work regime: flexible hybrid - 1st month of work: once a week in the office (20% on-site) - After the first month: 1 to 2 days a month in the office (on-site regime up to 5%) Our client is one of the leading parcel companies in Portugal, with an extensive network of agencies and Parcel Shops. It has established a stable European shipping network, covering many countries and some US states. Over time, it has expanded its portfolio with innovative solutions to serve the parcel market, especially in e-commerce. Responsibilities: Be a part of the Software Delivery management team, you are responsible for an engineering team focused on middleware technologies with approx. 10 employees; Take over the permanent personal and professional development of your engineers and ensure their optimal deployment in our agile product teams; Ensure continuous optimization of your engineering area in terms of synergies, advisory, efficiency and output as well as the technologies, processes and tools used; You are responsible for the middleware engineering vision, strategy and roadmap for within your area of responsibility, contributing to build and support the associated platforms; Provide high output delivery environment across the different products. Requirements: Computer science degree or equivalent; 10+ years experience on software engineer, and initial experiences as an engineering manager; Consolidated experience and know-how in middleware related technologies (e.g. API Management - Gateways, Orchestration, Governance and Documentation - Streaming, Messaging, Application Servers, Microservice Architecture and related Patterns, etc.); Experience in the area of Business process management (BPM) and Business rule engine (BRE); Platform Engineering knowledge/experience is a plus; Understanding of software development processes; Passionate about agile values, people and technology; Very good communication and listening skills; Passion to shape high performing development teams; Excellent English skills (both written and spoken); Available for travelling.
