We uncover strong trends and use smart science and technology to address a future based on varying regulations, consumer demands and automaker requirements.Product leadership that’s changing the worldOur employees have earned trusted partnerships with customers and suppliers around the world.  We leverage these relationships to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges at hand and then do what it takes to develop the next solution.  Our strong operations and commercialization expertise result in high volume availability of competitive, efficient products that truly drive change.BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, resultsdriven” individual to join as Quality Control Technician at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.Key Accountabilities:Quality representative in the production shopfloorProceed in accordance with the audit requirements of the control plansProceed with first and last part approval according to the control plansPerform daily defects review of FTQ and inform Quality Engineer and Engineering for new failure modes or abnormal quantity of failuresPerform daily review of scrap and inform Quality Engineer and Engineering for new failure modes or abnormal quantity of failuresEvaluate and decide the doubts that arise in the production process, in line with engineering requirementsIdentify and inform Quality Engineer about any non-conforming or suspicion products or raw materials, in order to prevent their improper shipmentEngage supplier quality to proceed with the incoming inspection, when defect found on raw materials in accordance with internal proceduresMaintenance of the containment area (on-hold)Issue or assure control charts are properly filled out according to the respective capability studiesAssess the suitability of measurement systems (MSA) in accordance with the proceduresKeep the Quality criteria’s updatedCarry out checks (audits) to the process, compile and issue the verification resultsSupport engineering during equipment validation carrying out of capability studies and MSASupport the carrying out of studies related to quality issuesExecution of Containment PlansCorrectly apply the handling and storage of chemical substancesApply and correctly enforce the collection and storage of wasteCarry out the 5's of the area under quality activities responsibilityComply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene and environmental prevention standardsComply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, Practice and ScheduleRespect workplace safety and cleanliness rulesRespect and comply with environmental policy rulesPerform other tasks not included in the activity for which he was hired, when the needs or convenience of the service justify it, for the period necessary for the said needs or conveniences of serviceEducation & ExperienceSecondary education in a related technical areaGood computer skillsInterpersonal CommunicationFluent in EnglishEEO StatementBorgWarner is an equal employment opportunity employer such that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin or disability.
